Nothing I saw in that Tactica trailer grabbed me at all and the art style is awful. Either I need to see more, or I'd need to hear some word of mouth on it.

Insiders are now saying there's another Persona spin-off coming next year too, in the party game genre, with characters from across the franchise.

Can't wait to see the mini-games for that one

Persona 4 somehow came out a year and a half after Persona 3. Expectations have never been the same since.

Persona 4 was basically an absurdly elaborate mod of P3.

You could also add GTA to that list. Vice City coming out a year after 3 was mad. Then they did San Andreas just 2 years after that.

I guess Miles Morales selling 20 million copies 2 years after Spider-Man would be a good recent example.

So P3R is getting entirely new English voice actors apparently. Honestly I feel like that really sucks even if the replacements are good because the original dub cast was very good and Ill never not hear them when seeing the characters

It's amazing that this game will have come out 4 times since the original release and non of them have included everything in 1 package.

Wow so either this game is an absolute waste of time and Atlus is incompetent, or they're planning P3R+ to release a year later and Atlus is just evil. Neither option is acceptable.

Like...at this point you just buy P3P HD, period. You can argue about FES vs P3P but vanilla is never part of that argument.

I think this actually may actually be approaching the most dissapointing video game announcement of all time, relative to my personal interest.

How far deep would someone's head have to be in the sand to defend these choices now that the cards are all out on the table?

If that's both their plan and their deciding factor, then they don't deserve the good sales numbers. It would be preferable for this game to tank.

The only reason I let the low quality of P3P HD slide at all was because we already knew this game was coming. Now that it's been revealed it makes P3P and Atlus look even more unacceptable.

I can't even say I want to see a P3P HD sales spike as a result of these announcements because they don't deserve any credit for that release either.

Oh well. I have other games to play instead.

Aigis S-Link, Elizabeth dates, restructured the calendar so that it's actually possible to max all S-Links in a single run, probably some other stuff I'm missing.

FES added a lot of quality of life improvement stuff and was just generally better than the base release. Guess we can forget all about having social links for the male PCs now too. Nozomi can be booted from P3. Nobody should have to suffer him instead of FeMCs Moon social link

Yeah, fuck that. Not touching it, and until proven otherwise, I'm entering "I know full well you'll just release an updated version a couple of years later and I'll just purchase that instead" mode with Persona games from this point. Why bother paying for an inferior copy when a newer version will just get made soon after? They've done this several times now since the original P3 and I would imagine people are going to catch onto it and call their bluff. If it turns out that sales sucked and they can no longer make that definitive version, whoops, that's on Atlas for disrespecting their customers.

Speaking of Persona 3 (and I don't really like getting into this discussion), do we know if the modding community has finally created a definitve version of Persona 3 themselves with all/most of Fes/Portable's features intact (or at least allowed it so you can actually control your party characters in battles in P3 FES)?

If it does badly enough they might still go through with adding the extra content just to recoup losses. Especially if they already have some gamepass bucks.

I wouldnt mind a glow up for Persona 4 Golden like this. P3 is what really needed it due to not having a definitive version like 4 and 4 is no longer trapped on handheld

Now that it's easily accessible and not locked away on the Vita, I think everyone's good.

People wanted a P3 remake because there was no definitive version. Now there still will not be a definitive version so their cries fell on deaf ears. And this is an annoying enough situation that even if they do release a definite version 1-2 years later I've decided I won't be buying that either.

As for P4, I don't like much of any content in The Golden and think it's worse personally, but for people without my hangups it's hard to argue it's not definitive. The improvements to fusion alone....yeah.

I was resigned to the fact that they were going to delete FeMC from the timeline even after she was great in PQ2 but to then even go, "Oh and not FES either" is lmao. This might be the most brazen Atlus has been in a while.

I mean christ, I kind of don't feel like buying that fancy new game they announced either.

Fuck 'em. I'll build a PC and get it through other means. I'm done.

On the singular good piece of news for this, they've got Hunter from The Owl House replacing Vic Mignawnawnaw for Junpei, which is rad.

I was never expecting FeMC because that honestly seems like a lot. Also I think despite what they say they're probably including some of the non-Answer adjustments from FES. Totally feel the disappointment/anger in the thread though.

I remember when Tales of Symphonia released it's worst version ever as a "Remaster", but I think this one somehow managed to easily top it as a "disappointment".

Anyways I haven't trusted this company in forever, so I'm not really surprised by anything they do. I didn't touch 5 until Royal, and I won't touch 6 after it comes out until it's inevitable third or fourth version either.

I haven't ever played 3 because I didn't have a PSP and I'm still waiting for a definitive version. If we don't get that, I guess I'm just not going to play 3.
