Retrospect it feels like the main priority was slowing it long enough to produce a vaccine and trying to minimise hospitals getting overrun. With hindsight was trying to prevent people catching it ever an achievable goal? Inevitable? Possibly. Could we have done a better job of preventing infection? Of fucking course we could have.
