Retrospect it feels like the main priority was slowing it long enough to produce a vaccine and trying to minimise hospitals getting overrun.

With hindsight was trying to prevent people catching it ever an achievable goal?

What do you think we should do next time differently?

In the beginning yes. But unfortunately people are stupid and wouldnt mask up + stay home.

this would've helped if people wanted to interact (masked up).

covid would've still been out there but the infected wouldn't be so high.

Inevitable? Possibly. Could we have done a better job of preventing infection? Of fucking course we could have. Cheeto man was still calling it a liberal hoax when 100k people had already died in the US alone.
