The problem with the clan of the Face Eating Leopards, is nobody cares about stories of other peoples faces being eaten.

It needs to be their field that is rotting on the vines. It needs to be their vacation to Disney negatively affected. It needs to be their favorite book that is banned. I'm certainly not holding my breath on any of this happening of course... but Trumpy boy does have some nasty criminal charges and probes looming over him at the moment. It's entirely possible he's incapable of running due to spending the rest of his life in a prison cell.

Of course, "the rich are never held accountable, Presidents don't go to jail, etc.", but you never know. Crazier things have happened.

these aren't little farms. they're huge industrial plants and them losing whole crops means food shortages in the area.

and the owners are the people voting for and supporting DeSantis in his previous races

these food/hospitality industries employ thousands and thousands of undocumented workers, it isn't just a few people quitting.

but yeah the smaller local farmers are suffering too

FL has strange term limits. you can't serve more than two consecutive terms, but you're only limited out of the next election. so, this term isn't necessarily his last, he just can't run for the next term.

Florida's state legislature has been rubber stamping laws beneficial to DeSantis. They've recently done away with their state's sunshine laws (DeSantis no longer has to disclose where he's going or who he's meeting with) and the law mandating the sitting governor resign to run for federal office, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did away with term limits from him too.

It's seeming like it at this point, but hopefully people know not to get too comfortable after 2016. DeSantis could still be more of a frontrunner if Trump's charges become a bigger issue. January 6 by itself should be enough to ensure centrists don't vote for him, but Republicans seem to think he has a fighting chance, so maybe I'm the one who's out of touch. Also, the right will do anything to fuck with the voting system and contest the results if they lose, so the bigger the landslide, the better.

Since Jvile is my hometown and I lived in the surrounding area for 30 years. I know it's still a red town that leans purple. It's antedocal. Say for 2020 and 2022 it might be blue but next few few it might be red. The mayor is another thing altogether. She's a local celeb thats been on TV for most of my life. She's fought cancer 3 times and that means she a fighter. Davis was milquetoast. Nothing special and nothing that he said was a wow factor and say oooooh I want to vote for him. Being mayor is a figurehead job to be honest the power comes from the City Council. I being a moderate will give her a chance and if next time if she has done a great job she might get my vote. I thought Curry was alright though. I know some made a huge deal about her but the city isnt that divided along party lines.

Speaking of Jacksonville, I attended a wedding at Casa Marina. Truly beautiful.

I love it but being in the surrounding backwoods for 30 years. I'm used to a slower life. I havent decided on what to do yet. I have about 5 more months to decide Stay here or go look elsewhere. My health has come back from how somewhat then it was a year ago. If I set up here it will cost more but will get more people. Other than being cheaper and getting the same business I had before. Wasn't my intention. Solely on the hypocritical nature of republicans, and yes making light of his threats, not at the expense of others.
