With open world and zoned worlds taking over modern RPGs, what is your favorite world map?

I think Final Fantasy IX's was my favorite. The different modes of travel helps to slowly reveal where you can go was interesting.

However, Ni no Kuni and it's sequel has the most gorgeous and epic look and feel. Sailing and flying felt great.

Tales of Vesperia deserves a mention too.

Dragon Quest VIII and XI both sort of had a world map but only for sailing and flying but I felt it was well done capturing the worldly travel while keeping a zoned world.

Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden

The first 95% of the game has no world map. Near the end of the game you finally get to see the world map and spend about 5 seconds on it to get to the final area of the game.

Dragon Warrior VII because hoe it kept opening up and how it was different (on psx) between past and future. It really was exciting to see how things changed and what new places you could find in the past and present.

It might be pretty 'basic' but I've always liked FF7's map.

I forgot about Wild ARMs. Wild ARMs 2 was wack, though. I dunno. Maybe not the world map but the whole game was just wack.
