I've only read Sabriel of Garth Nix.
I enjoyed it well enough, and liked the fact that the ending of the book could be an end, and never sought out the rest.

I read them all. They were pretty good, though I've never felt the desire to reread any of them like the other books I had during my childhood.

I felt that about Sabriel, good but not memorable -- can hardly remember any of it.

Yep, read them as a teenager (I think the author is Australian?). They were pretty great.

My favourite series was The Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. Every few pages you'd have these amazing illustrations of these interesting creatures/environments. If that had become a film series it would have been very popular.
