You feel they've earned the right to conquer those territories by invading and keeping them for so long and that Ukraine should have to retake them purely using their own military might instead of supporting the conflict ending in the only just manner possible as soon as possible with western support. The world went nearly a decade without responding to some of those invasions. After a certain point people settle into a new status quo. Go back far enough and the US doesn't deserve the land it rests on, since the Native Americans were the original inhabitants. But if anyone attacked the US over that it'd be looked at as ridiculous.
