A 12-year-old Tulsa, Oklahoma, girl who allegedly stabbed her younger brother to death back in January was seen pleading with police officers during her arrest, according to recently released bodycam footage.

"I really didnt want things to happen like this Im going to spend the rest of my life in prison," the unidentified girl is heard saying in the bodycam footage, obtained by Law & Crime.

"Im so sorry! Im so sorry!" the girl continued. "I dont know what the f--- happened."

The video was filmed around midnight on Jan. 5, when the Tulsa Police Department responded to a home in the St. Thomas Square neighborhood. The 12-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her 9-year-old brother, identified by Law & Crime as Zander Lyda, three times.

"Theres stab wounds. In the chest," the girls mother, identified by the outlet as April Lyda, told her daughter. "You better pray to God he f---ing lives."

"Im so sorry," the girl said, according to the video. "I dont know what happened! Its some demonic s---!"

The young boy was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 2:30 a.m.

The young girl is heard admitting to an officer that she stabbed her brother while he was asleep, ran to her bedroom and tossed a knife out of the window. In the video, she was seen leading an officer to where she had thrown the knife.

"Im so sorry," the girl continued. "I dont know what the f--- happened. I dont know what happened. I dont know what happened."

The girl also revealed to the arresting officer that she had cut wounds to her arms, which the cop examined during her arrest. She never explained in the video why she had stabbed her brother, and her mom expressed shock to police as to how and why the stabbing had unfolded.

"I just dont understand why she would have so much anger toward him," the mom told police, according to the Law & Crime video. "Especially at bedtime."

Family friends spoke to local media earlier this year, saying that there were no signs that the 12-year-old would attack her brother.

The Tulsa County district attorneys office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digitals request for comment on the case and whether the girl had been charged.

It sounds like this was a freak occurence or they didn't know this girl was psychotic. Still, if one of your kids kills your other kid, you must feel like a total failure of a parent.

Listen to the way her and her mom were talking, there's probably a lot more to this story than what's being told.

sounds like she might suffer from a mental illness assuming she's not lying about what happened

the girl was also apparently cutting herself and made comments to friends about having thoughts of stabbing her brother beforehand, but the mom didn't know.

Honestly, not so sure on this one. A bit early to call it.

sleepwalking disorder
schzopranic episode or brain tumor made her see her brother as something else.
or it could just be abusive sibling relationship.

Kinda want to hear more details, it doesnt seem like this will be a simple case

Right definitely isn't cut and dry. Hope she can get some help but the family has gotta be broken from this...

At least my brother only ran after me while holding a knife and never actually stabbed me.

The sister probably has some kind of psychotic issue going on.

So her ADHD medication made her incredibly angry and impulsive? That's really not something that even negative side effects of ADHD medication are supposed to do.

I think it's possible she has co-morbid Bipolar Disorder and she's one of the few violent, psychotic bipolars.

This happened close to where I lived, apparently people believed the sister was jealous of the brother getting favoritism from family and friends.

At least that's the talk, idk either way.

Sounds like the intrusive thoughts won.

Also you got life in prison and death penalty the wrong way around. Death is a mercy compared to 60+ years of absolutely pointless time sink. Even countries without the death penalty should offer it voluntarily.

It could have triggered some kind of overwhelming compulsion or intrusive thoughts. Very rare but not implausible.

Those of them who havent been in prison dont get to have opinions. Part of the purpose of prison time besides rehab is to prepare yourself for life afterward (exercise, study). A life sentence removes all of that incentive. It is inarguably and objectively just dead time.

But thats why i said death should be an option. If you dont want to take it, fine. But it should be there.

Almost did. That doesnt mean anything. Everything I said about the purpose of prison time is fact. Focusing on what you are going to do once you get out is a huge part of a prisoners morale and drive to get out of bed in the morning.

Without that, its basically torture.
The option of immediate death should be on the table. To argue otherwise is to admit you want people to serve life sentences out of spite - you are pro-torture.

and no prison doesn't do anything to help with mental illness,what helps is therapy and rehabilitation which is what this girl needs, she needs help to deal with her problems,she's also a victim here
