I'm working on a Facebook clone.

I started working on it May 1st so it's been just over a month since I began.

Just finished learning about multer and adding profile pictures. I already have creating accounts, adding status updates and adding friends. The only thing I need left is adding likes and comments to status updates. After that I need to clean up my scss folder and I'll be done.

I'll post screenshots this weekend.

I had been working on a game in Unity, but since I started a new job as an app developer, and with it being summer with a toddler, I havent had any time to work on it in a while

I work for a school district, and we are changing Student Information Systems, which means we got a new database. So I have to rewrite all our scripts that export information to other systems (food service, transportation, billing, ID cards, etc) into this new system.

It also means that almost everything I made in my last 5 years working here is now useless

I was going to start working on the PUT request for my likes but I got distracted and ended up solving another problem. Ignore all the broken code. It'll get fixed once I purge the database and start fresh. I'm still not sure how I feel about the css because it's so plain looking but I'll worry about that last. I prefer basic looks but it might be too basic.

How did you get your job? One of my friends used to work for a school (teacher aide) and suggested I look for jobs there.

I just saw there was an opening for Programmer/Analyst on the district's website, and applied.There is a lot of different IT positions at schools so while my school district only has one person with the title Programmer, there are other people who have a major part of their duties involve stuff like using SQL or coding in SharePoint

I'm working in a software company for construction stuff, but I'm no software developer there.

I can programm stuff, but my skills are far too dirty to count as true software development. I have to create some scripts for customers on an individual basis (sometimes simple with a few lines of code, sometimes a few hundred lines of code or more), but the core development of the software behind is on another level.

Before that, I was in the financial sector.
I was programming internal tools for our analysis team.

Simply put, we got hundreds of GB in data in a stupid CSV format per month (and some other sources), and my job was to ETL the shit out of them until we had some nice figures and graphs for CEOs and the EBA.
