Great video. I am only halfway around it. It's not an essay, it's actual journalism. They interviewed various ZA/UM employees along with the major shareholder and robert kurvitz.

Basically both side's accusations are somewhat true.

Tl:dr: the main investor is shady and the whole share takeover involve some shady transactions so it's somewhat true that he "stole" the company right under kurvitz and co.

But

On the other side, based on the regular employees said, kurvitz is quite a pain in the ass to work with, especially if you aren't his inner circle. They acknowledge his artistic skill and charisma, but lack leadership skills and proper communication. During final cut development, he started neglecting duties and by the time the sequel in the work, there is some kind of egomania and neuroticism in kurvitz's behavior. He and his inner circle also took 2 months off work for reasons they didn't specify and i think this is well within european labor work, they left BEFORE the due date of their vacation and called the other team which he basically said " yeah, i wont come to office tomorrow, now you're in charge of the juniors", etc.
