I took it to an different extreme level about changing things, but a restaurant that serves fresh fish daily that ran out of fish... Were they supposed to send out some massive text alert to everyone or put a sign outside saying they ran out of fish. No. I have seen stores here put out signs that say they have no bags so bring your own. That plastic bag ban and paper bags really don't work so well for some stuff.

Also, speaking as someone who's worked with the public, 90% of people cannot fucking read.

Fancy digital displays can't black out items/combos if unavailable. What a world....

That's true I was in line buying some basics at my store and the lady behind me had a coupon that didn't work on doorbusters and clearance. It's clearly stated on the coupon and on the signs. I left before it was resolved. I feel bad about that tbh a little though tbh. I mean trying to use one of our shitty coupons on NFL products is the most rookie move, but she picked a doorbuster and clearance item. Too bad she struck out twice.

And these are the same employees who are demanding at least 15 an hour while they can't even do basic tasks right like inventory...

Fuck those people. At the theatre, we had a floor drain backing up in the bathroom. Pulled the ropes closed, put a "closed" sign up, and pulled a giant standee in front of it. A Karen still comes up to me complaining that the floor in there was wet and dirty and we should let people know. She also wanted free tickets because her shoes were now gross as well.

Ugh, this... when I used to work at McDonald's we put signs both over the menu item(s) and/or on the registers saying that something was unavailable, and people would still order it <_<

I'll say I felt like fast food "scrub" employees were underpaid but they did have to deal with asshole customers a lot. I remember when Arbys raised their minimum really high, higher than expected a bunch of people at my work (including myself) were yeah like dealing with customers more directly probably blows a lot, but we'd make more there and just have to do beef things.

*sigh* I didn't want to work fast food, but it was a funny conversation in 2013.

Cause the managers can just magic the item you're low on/out of from their ass right?

These days pretty much every McD's has digital boards in the drive thru, and when something is out it can be shown that it's out, usually with the item faded out and text on it saying "Back Soon!"
