The size youd see in Ocarina of Time or Majoras mask?

as much as I loved Breath of the Wild thats the one thing I missed. The sacred beasts were puny compared to a real temple. They were basically just a big shrine

Not quite.

They are bigger than Divine Beasts were, but they still aren't as big as dungeons in other 3D Zeldas and they still follow a similar format to the DBs (go to 4 points to activate a mechanism to give you access to the boss), except you don't have the ability to flip the level around.

Good I didn't care for that mechanic

they are still somewhat open challenges that you can do in the order you see fit. What I like about them i that each of them has a section involving actually getting to them though that focuses on a unique mechanic in order to get to the dungeon. These sections are all pretty fun and length and feel like part of the dungeons themselves

I pray god will curse the writer, as the writer has cursed the world with this beautiful, stupendous creation, terrible in its simplicity, irresistible in truth

True. I found the journey to the wind temple more fun than the temple itself.

Proper dungeons can be hard when more than one solution is possible.

I don't really see much of a difference between the dungeons of TotK and previous Zelda games. I just wish there were more of them

I think one thing that's important to note is that they all have their own unique theme and bosses. That was an issue many had with the Divine Beasts, and it's something they definitely rectified. Your mileage may vary on whether they're up to par with traditional Zelda dungeons though.

Tbh I don't really miss the dungeons.

But I do wish the Shrines had more varied themes instead. Like all the Goron shrines looking like the Fire Temple for example.

The clean shrines feel really samey even though the content of them has greatly improved. I just want different looking walls and music.

Theres only one that comes close and its like the last temple in the desert area. Its a step up from the air ship divine beasts in BOTW, but they cant by no means be called temples or dungeons in TOTK. The new TOTK takes the big open world and filled it with shrines that dont have enough differences from each other that I see this formula lasting more than 1 more game before gamers see it getting old.
