Once you become three generations past the current, your views on how society ought to act are incredibly antiquated. I feel like at a certain point their views become skewed (partly due to age gap) that the laws they defend become a means to gatekeep and self serve. As a result, look at all the statutes in congress that should have been updated decades ago; it doesn't exist to serve its purpose today. The fact that certain statutes still include "chastity of women" is incredibly sexist and outdated. Why do we have men and women in their 70s and 80s making all the decisions for us? It's no wonder we're still so polarized despite advancements in science and other fields.

They should have X amount of cases and then bring in the next old bag

Fixed non-lifelong term sounds good. Able to be removed arbitrarily sounds dangerous.
