Do you?

When the option to save/load whenever/wherever is present and you can use that to your advantage to tip the scales in your favor, do you use it?

I love it.

I play games to have fun, and if RNG is a bitch i will break it.

No. A lot of portions in games can be obtuse or just a pain in the ass and I don't blame people for circumventing them. Especially given save scumming is just a regular part of a game.

Depends on the game. I've played games I savescummed, but I also played x-com on Ironman mode.

I admit I do, especially when there's a fork in the story, so I can play both options.

That's not save scumming though.

Save scumming would be you're being trolled by a boss but you can save after every attack so you load until the boss misses its OP attack or something along those lines

Yeah, I do that too.
Also, it is. The Wii, Wii U and Switch Virtual Consoles use save states (with no restrictions on reloading).

how much is save scumming recommended in XCOM:EW?

RNG apparently gets pretty wild in that?

I do it but I think it's kinda bad. It can get to the point where you're doing it so much, it's like "why am I even playing this." Or you quicksave in a bad position, but are too stubborn to reload an older save. Some games like the old Fallouts were just stupid with some of their mechanics though, save scumming both breaks the games and is the only reasonable option for some stuff.

None (or I guess very minimal), since dealing with wild rng is part of the game.

I admit I did rng save scumming for Larian games... mostly because their drops (even boss loots) are randomized (and it's not like you can farm in Larian games).

I'll play my games in whatever way gives me the most enjoyment. Sometimes that involves abusing saves, sometimes it doesn't.

My game, so I'll please myself.

I'm almost to this point with Pokemon Stadium.

I haven't even gotten to Round 2 but being stuck with Rental Pokemon and no way to level match the fucking Pokemon that are 5 levels over you is bullshit <_<

I've spent over an hour on this one fucking Wrap Tentacruel trying to luck out with RNG. Doesn't help that the joycons are fucking dog shit and I'll hit left but it registers up. And if shit like that doesn't happen, attacks will just miss because Gen 1 1/256 bullshit (or normally but I've yet to see the AI miss a fucking Fire Blast)

I have no absolutely no issues with save scumming this fuck shit.

We had that back on the original NES. I could get to the hallway just before Shredder, but always got killed there, and it was always with Donnie, so just quit at that point, because there are no checkpoints in the last level...

I had it too. I never got past the Dam.

It wasn't until Cowabunga Collection that I actually beat the game thanks to save states lol

That hallway before Shredder is insane
