I live in Japan. Racism here isnt like racism in the US. They dont hate you. But they know you are different and treat you like you arent part of the lunch table in high school.

The other issue is, they rarely see foreigners, and panic often. Ive had so much trouble at doctors, who just cant listen to me or try to push me out as fast as possible because they dont know what they are supposed to do. Just use your brain dude. But it is t in the training book, i guess.

I remember there was a topic a few years ago about one of those. There were a couple of losers who were basically saying (more like heavily insinuating because they didn't have the balls to say it outright) she didn't deserve to win because she wasn't Japanese enough.

I mean yes, but also there are right wing people who legitimately hate Koreans and Chinese. My in-laws are Chinese and they definitely prefer living here over China (or America, but only my wife has experience living there), but there are definitely people here who hate Chinese people.

I remember this user a long time ago made a topic about this. How the person who won Miss Philipines was a half race and said that it was offensive because he was also supposedly Filipino. I mentioned that it was fine because the person who won Miss Japan was also someone who was half and he once again said it was offensive to people who were truly "japanese". I'll never let this one fucking go.

To be fair, thats not a totally unpopular opinion if youre (an older) Asian. As a Filipino, Ive seen us associate more with Latinos than other Asians usually.

I occasionally work with a half Black half Japanese guy in his late 50s. Besides living a interesting life with many great stories the guy looks amazing for his age. I was blown away when he told me he was almost 60.. I would have guessed early 40s.

Ever heard of the term "exotic"? That's all that is. A white person in Asia or Africa will be seen as exotic and attractive, as an example. It's why a lot of dudes have a thing for redheads, too.

Yeah, really supports her statement that she's lived in Japan since she was 5.

I like it though, I like accents in general, even on men; though for them it's platonically and on women I find it attractive.
