My family was so poor our food often had to be repurposed as our toys. You ever notice how Popsicle sticks kinda look like swords?... Now I grew up in the south, so me and my brother would be in the yard on a hot-ass summer day, temperature'd be 100 degrees. We'd be eating popsicle sticks then you'd just see two redheaded boys - we were Irish, too - start poking the shit out of each other with popsicle sticks. We'd have to come inside because the neighbors called our mother to tell her that one of her boys had done pulled a worse stunt than Cain and Abel.... We'd be reciting The Hail Mary for an hour straight, all sore and sticky from being stabbed from popsicle sticks...

*guffaw uncontrollably*
