I'm about 20-30 hours in and honestly this game isn't that bad, in fact I'd be willing to say it's good.

The combat is great, characters are fine, decent exploration. I really haven't had any bugs.

I know this game has to be compared to one of the greatest video game trilogies of all time, but it really is able to stand up on its own as a fun action RPG.

Gameplay is generally fine. It's just a poor Mass Effect game. And if you played it following the ME trilogy, it was a massive disappointment.

Also if you played at release, you would have witnessed some legendary bugs and wonky facial animations.

Shame we'll never see where the story was going.

I agree, the game is clearly worse than Mass Effect 2 and 3, but it is still fun in its own right

Also while it has been a while, I remember it being the first time Mass Effect had human squad members who were not super boring

I was enjoying that game, made it about 15 hours in and then I clipped through the Tempest floor. Reloading didnt help, earlier saves didnt help, earlier save and doing a mission planet side didnt help, I was stuck so I quit and read the story online.

Wouldn't that be Mass Effect 2? Only Jacob was boring. Miranda and Jack were great.

Liam and Cora are awful so I disagree there. Liam sucked and Cora wanted you know she used to be an Asari Commando every 5 seconds.

I enjoyed it as well. Certainly not as bad as its reputation suggests

Ehh, I disagree on Miranda, I found her to be the most annoying character in Mass Effect. Jack is better but still find her forgettable.

I dunno, it has been a while since I played Andromeda, but my takeaway was "wow human squad mates who don't suck".... of course like most ME game all the alien characters are still the most interesting and fun

Actually the best humans are probably the ME2 DLC people but they are not as fleshed out, so I am not counting them

I never experienced any of the bugs people mentioned. The initial animations were a bit stiff and the whole "1000 yard stare" problem. But aside from that, gameplay wise, is was amazing. The jet pack really helped. Story was... ok. Interesting. Would have been nice to see where it went, but this day and age, you don't really get time for things to marinate. It has to be NOW or it sucks and it's a failure.

True. I find the animations to be the best and most fluid in the series besides the facial animations, which can be odd sometimes.

Honestly I hope the release of this game will serve as a lesson to EA (lol) to polish games up before releasing them. You can see how Andromeda being so buggy on release has hurt its legacy despite it being a solid game now.

I have started the game 5 or 6 times now, never finished it once. Just too boring.

The characters are so poor in Andomeda

Drack and Vetra are ok at best

the rest are terrible

I hate when characters' faces are modeled after well-known actors. Now I can't look at Miranda without seeing that terrible girl from Dexter.

Jack was the only interesting human in ME2, Jacob was dull and Miranda was the definition of cliche.
