I love spicy food but damn even a bite of jalapeno has me sweating nowadays. Meanwhile my friend can pop a habanero like a tictac >_>

No quick way to do so unfortunately. Just eat a lot of spicy until your body builds that tolerance.

At the same time, I wish jalapeo could set my mouth on fire. Ghost pepper is a decent tingle for me.

I initially built it by rubbing cayenne powder in my tongue and trying not to lose my mind

Why are you even trying to build up your tolerance? You got some middle schooler to impress? Just enjoy the burn no matter the pepper.

I really enjoy the flavor of habaneros and birds-eye chilis, no need to be presumptuous

Makes more sense. Didn't mean to be that much of a dick. Get some yellow bird habanero sauce. It's delicious and not super spicy for habanero.

Another thing is when my tolerance is high, eating stuff that's only mildly/moderately spicy is a lot more enjoyable instead of a struggle. Some foods like thai curry and vindaloo can only be spicy.

Yeah I need to be in the mood for the struggle honestly. Most of the time I'd rather not. What was the highest pepper level you'd consume and what made you drop down to jalapeo level?

I have to decrease the Sriracha in my Dynamite Tuna Pasta Salad from two tablespoons to only one teaspoon because a simple peppermint candy will burn my sister's tongue. The woman is married to a 1st generation Mexican-American who does most of the cooking, but even he has to tone down the spice for her.

When you can feel it on the back of your eardrums, it's almost hot enough.

What's your favorite style of spicy food my man? Mine is Thai. I remember the first time I'd eaten thai around my wife. I was eating some red curry. She went to rub the back of my head and it was soaked in sweat. She was disgusted. Lmao

Find a wing place that has a flavor you like that hits you as mildly spicy (just enough to clear your sinuses), and stick with that for a little while. Eventually you'll find yourself wanting to step up to the next level of heat.

Brick ramen, with two carolina reapers.

Finding a good thai place is always a decent idea, though.

Many years ago I had a party night where all I consumed was vodka and, through the course of the night, an entire bottle of Steak n Shake hot peppers.

They weren't the spiciest peppers I've ever had, but it was the spiciest bathroom visit I've had so far.
