You ever just stop and reflect on how two different things that you like are on opposite ends of the spectrum?

I paused in reading Peter S. Beagle's book about a magical equine so that I could go watch Fistful of Dollars at a local theater. While I was in line, I was shocked to see the animated film version of The Last Unicorn listed as an upcoming film later this summer. It's on a day that I'm normally scheduled to work, but I will move Heaven and Earth to try and be there. If I get any odd looks from the ticket-seller, I'll lie and say that I'm a distant relative of the author. What I'd like to tell them is that if the World War II hero who helped to inspire the character of James Bond could show up on the set with the book in hand, it's good enough for me too.

But yeah, I'm bouncing back and forth between a bittersweet fantasy story with a melancholy, reflective tone to a film that is honestly just two hours of men squinting and shooting each other. (And a damned awesome film for it!)
