Political scapegoating is blaming all of society's problems on some supposedly undesirable group of people. Then (according to the perps of this evil shit), everything will be better if these undesirables are dealt with.

In other words, scapegoating is what the Nazis did to the Jews and many others, culminating in the Holocaust.

Right now, Republicans are very busy scapegoating trans people and "illegal immigrants", and many other groups, but these two are the hottest targets for now.

So, for example, a trans person needs to be political in self defense (or is merely waiting to die if/when Republicans take absolute power).

Ya, that's because a good amount of the threads were important and not just which Star Wars character stopped the universe from expanding.

We literally had people posting on that board that were watching their human rights being taken away right in front of their eyes, making those topics incredibly personal. And threads about children getting mowed down in schools by guns tend to be anything but "chill"

Not a shock that those types of threads were more intense than "Boobs or Ass - which is better!!"

There have always been political topics posted here, tho.

Not many use the tabs though, so you're left to scroll through game topics, tabloids, self affirmations, cringey 34 topics, farts and things to talk about while high. It can be a bit much.

Yeah there's a lot of political extremism around here now. It's definitely off-putting.

I don't need to see for myself, I'm aware that kind of situation is highly likely and possibly very blatant in today's society. But I've never voted and I will never vote. You can call me evil, lazy, part of the world's problems. I don't care. And I'm not exclusive in this regard, most people are this apathetic about the issues around them and before their very eyes, even if some would deny this. It's simply human nature not to care. I just don't personally like to be dishonest, I have no issues admitting my indolence.

Just look at the most popular topics here at CE.
School shootings, mass shootings, Florida man, US education system, US Health Care, Trump, US politics, Ukraine war, LGBT rights, media censorships/bans, ass VS boobs, suspended topics, it is all politics!

I have it in my sig because it was a great quote. That doesn't mean most of my posts are political. That would be kinda weird on all the FF boards I frequent. I'm lucky enough that my rights (as a white male in the developed world) aren't being eroded so I don't have to defend myself. But many people are not.

And by types who want Trump in jail, do you mean "normal people who recognize the world's biggest con artist and are sick of watching him get away with a lifetime of crime?"

Most of us weren't Hyena_20, and Hyena_20 had a reputation even on 261. Nothing is going to change. Most of the toxic individuals were the usual shitposting alts who tend not to last long no matter where they go.
