Yeah, but I luckily could stay at an Intown Suites that you pay by the week. I was there probably 4 months.

I had a friend who became homeless a few years back. I let them stay with me for a while till they got employed.

Technically yeah. I had to live in a hotel for about 6 weeks waiting to close on my house because I'd already given my landlord notice and there was a fuck up at the bank that delayed the process a month.

Homelessness comes in degrees. "Unsheltered" homelessness is what most people think of, with people living in a tent or car or just sleeping on park benches. Sheltered homelessness is obviously living in a homeless shelter or other provisions for housing the homeless. "Hidden" homelessness are those living in transitory situations supported by family or other support structures, e.g. crashing on a friend's couch.

Never been any of them personally but have known a couple unsheltered and quite a few hidden.

Nah I always had a place to stay, but I am acquaintances with a few people who were/are homeless, not anyone I know too well though

One was a person who was kicked out of his home once his parents found out he was gay. He ended up getting robbed the very first night out on the streets, but some other friends were able to take him in and help he get a stable life again.

The other is my co-worker's son. He started seeing a druggie and started getting hooked on drugs as well. So they lost their apartment, my co-worker offered him to stay with her again, but since the offer did not apply to the druggie girlfriend, he turned it down and has been living on the streets for about a month now, though he just recently overdosed, and is currently staying at a hospital to detox at this moment

not a good feeling. my brother's GF and one of my uncles (not the one i live with) have OD'd from fenatyl.

wish people would learn from the experience to maybe make a different decision to not do that drug. free will doesn't allow changes if stuck in the ways of what they do.
