No wonder so very few people post pictures on here. You have to fucking resize everything from the size your camera takes them at and it gets blurry as fuck.

Ain't nobody got time for that. Just let us post the picture like every other site.

I wouldn't mind but it views a 3.1MB image as >4 MB

Yep, tried to upload a picture that is 3.11 MB and it gives the "The maximum size is 4MB"

Plus it's not like it'll be taking up room for long. Topics are purged in like 2 days unlike every other normal site.

Yeah I tried to post 3 pictures last night. Went through the trouble of resizing. They were all less than 1MB. Got a message saying the post can't be over 4MB.

I just gave up.

To be fair, ce is about the only board where topics purge that fast and gamefaqs doesn't delete images that are uploaded once a topic is purged.

Where do the images go when the topic is gone? Is there some type of database on here full of nothing but pictures?

They sit on a server somewhere.

The image is just uploaded to said server and given a corresponding link, which said link is sequential.

The server has to have some image/file matching service because it's been pointed out that if you upload image A, B, and C, then re-upload image A then it'll keep the same link iirc.

They probably forgot to account for the overhead of base64 encoding when authoring the error message, so you should multiply the total size of the message by 4/3rds (plus some small unknown overhead for headers and other metadata).

Why not automatically resize them if they're saving all our photos?

This is literally the only site I post on where you have to do this.

Actually, I think it even sees a 2.5 MB image as 4 MB.

It's definitely a mess.

I just gave up.

I get around this by posting what images can get through and then using the Edit feature to add the rest of them. It works since posting the image turns it into a url.

The problem I did have was from mobile to website. When I got my ass to the damn computer it solved itself mostly. I think I actually had a picture of myself I was shocked I couldn't upload. Also there should be at least one of me in the recent archives in a selfies topic.

They do resize them, they just wont accept "too large" ones.

I was in Bawston actually, that was one I think was too wide and I was all c'mon Gamefaqs. I'll just post a old one of me while slapping a ham. (Old grindcore/punk label).
