Got an 18-hour nerve block for the surgery, when that wears off, I'm fucked

hernia... i had one of in my childhood. don't have much memory other than the bandage on my groin and the scar that was left.

i hope not, that might agitate the injury

I guess the good news is that my family has to serve my every need.

The bad news is that I won't be able to jerky jerky for awhile

Apparently it is like really common? Do the guts come on the outside of your body? Or just out of place INSIDE your body?

Very common among men.

They don't come outside your body, they just show up as a bulge. I'm sure Google has some pretty good images of them.

I noticed it in the shower one day and had it looked at right away.

Not necessarily dangerous unless one of your organs (intestines, usually) get "stuck" in the hole and then lose blood flow

Yeah, my dad is living with one. They pretty much said they're not gonna do anything unless something bad happens. An inguinal hernia. Did you elect to have it done, or did they advise it?

They advised it. It won't heal on its own.

I had that about ten years ago. I recovered from the actual operation and all, but its definitely had an impact on my life that Ive never been able to get over.

Same. I don't even think I had stitches, but some big plastic sticker put over it. I remember it falling off in the pool.

Been years, but mine wasn't that bad right after. At like 4 or 5 days out though even the pain meds weren't cutting it and I had painful swelling. About 2 days of that and then everything was good again.

Yeah, they told me that some severe swelling/bruising would show up a few days later. Not looking forward to it.

I'm going to try to manage with Ibuprofen as much as possible before dipping into the narcotic pain killer

My right testicle is turning black and blue, so I have that going for me.

Also, my right shoulder inexplicably hurts as well

it's bad news bears for me. i sneeze every time i use creole seasoning or pepper.
really hate bland food :(.

Slept pretty well (though I had to stay flat on my back, and I usually sleep on my side)

Pain isn't bad today at all. Hoping I can avoid the strong stuff altogether
