I didn't realise until this week how many people here posted on it, or spent some time on it. Does it really bother people that much, what has happened?

Pretty sure its all performative, as per usual.

It's weird that people are still talking about it. I mean I don't discuss with my roommate about how I took the trash out monday.

It was a massive hub of diverse and useful information regularly used by a ton of people, what do you expect?

Unfortunately, it seems like some of the worst trolls from 261 have now infested CE.

Actually, there's a good reason for this, if you understand the history of the board.

The board had a big problem with 10-15 trolls who would burn through accounts like crazy. The board had a reputation across Gamefaqs of "being full of leftist snowflakes", and I've seen people on other boards talk about "I'm going over there to mess with them"
Another weird, more recent trend was to see trolls in the form of unfamiliar faces with old-ass accounts whose karma was low enough to suggest that said accounts had been inactive for up to a decade. Many of these accounts would have 10 or fewer active messages (the average was between 3 to 5) And they'd often post on Fridays or Saturdays (the quality of 261 threads/posts went waaay down on the weekends due to all of the drunkposters-- both regular users and people who only visited Gamefaqs on weekends while drunk)

This is a gaming website though... is a politics board really necessary on gamefaqs of all places? Not saying there doesn't need to be debates in the web in general of course, but I kinda get why it was done tbh

TL:DR, yes.

Personally I liked 261 because it kept me well informed and the constant dumbfuckery led me to factchecking tons of stuff. It was fast, easy to follow, and surprisingly comprehensive.
