I definitely have those moments. Like, why am I posting on some dying website I used to use for video game guides when I was a kid, when the vast majority of the Internet forum community has moved to places like Reddit

Agreed. Reddit is so shit though, can't even discuss movies on a sub called movies. The topics that make it to the top are all ridiculous celebrity gossip and news that I dont care about, I just want to discuss movies.

And how is it conducive to discussion when a topic has 5000 comments? Fuck's sake whos gonna read any of that? Its like the YouTube comments section. Its not like a regular forum where you make a topic about a movie and people discuss what they like, what they didn't, things they felt were unique, insights all that stuff

But if you ask my past self, i didn't see that i would last over 10 years in this site
Same with online multiplayer games, we keep saying "this game sucks", "I'd probably quit the game soon", etc but yet we keep playing it for years.

I think subconsciously the layout is what kept me from fully moving to Reddit. Like Ill browse Reddit, but the forums here are so much more user-friendly and easier to navigate.

No this site has been my internet home since I was a kid. I use it more than any other site. Hell only other site I use regularly is Facebook and that's just a case I've joined several groups that post content I'm semi interested in. Memes and who would win in a fight scenarios mashing up comics anime and video games. Hell main reason I cling to Facebook is the messenger service. I have a few friends who struggle financially so they don't always have their phone bill caught up. But messenger as long as you have wi fi is free texting

I use Reddit and other such websites too. This place is just better for having a discussion.

not really. if it ever gets to the point where i get tired of this place, i just stop visiting for a few days and i eventually just boredly come back regularly again

It's cozy here. Vegy is like my uncle.

No, because I hate most of the newer forums/social media. Esp. anything where you have to click "load more posts" instead of having numbered pages of posts. Because modern social media is all, "oh, you want to see the 200th post? Well fuck you, you have to load 19 more sets of 10 posts, MWA HA HA HA!!!"
