I still see the odd person wearing N7 apparel now and again. Such a cool franchise that deserved so much better than the last decade.

I'm kind of surprised there never was a spinoff game made of the series. In before Andromeda is a spinoff

I still haven't played 3.

When a publisher gets hold of a massively successful franchise, naturally they'll want to milk the fuck out of it. Anyone would have. It's a challenge to end on a high note and just walk away from it.

A turn based strategy RPG spin-off seems like such a no brainer.

The universe itself is cool enough to support almost any genre of game.

First game has a bit of jank to it. Not sure how much the Legendary Edition fixes it as I haven't played it.

2 and 3 would feel like 360 era shooters now with the waist high cover and stuff like that but I'm sure it holds up fine.

Definitely worth checking out though. You can get the trilogy for pretty cheap (or free) all the time.

Replayed it about 2 years ago when the legendary collection was released. 1 is still janky, but fun with great world building and a fun old school story. Mass Effect 2 fixes most of the jankyness and the world building is among the best in video games. 2 is still one of my all time favorite games. Mass Effect 3 is a big leap in combat, easily the best combat in the series. The rest of the game isn't as good as 2 but it is still among the best.

I remember reading the review for ME1 in the old Xbox magazine and decided to give it a chance. It quickly became a favorite game of mine. The choices mattered and it was an all around fun game. I was so excited to play the remaster. Hope it comes to switch one day.

I remember I was playing a match of 3v3 in LoL with my mates when my Collector's Editios ME3 came in.

I told the boys I was out and proceeded to play like a degenerate for a couple of weeks.

I thought it looked really cool, and "next-gen" (I was coming from the PS2), but I wasn't necessarily looking forward to it.

however, I'm after I played it, I was really looking forward to ME2, and I think it's the only game I can remember waiting until midnight to purchase.

I got into Bioware from KOTOR and Jade Empire on the OG Xbox.

ME1 and ME2 were perhaps my most anticipated games of all time. Only Halo 2 and 3 come close. Just the right games at the right time of my life.

I picked up the ME series when ME2 was on sale, started with the original and fell in love. There have been very few games where I've sat in front of the TV like a 9 year old, just staring at the title screen or the planet map.

I bought ME3 on release, yes, lesson learned. All of that effort, hundreds of hours, just to end up picking what colour explosion I wanted.

I borrowed MEA off a friend and whilst it was acceptable, the shine of the series never really returned to me. The games were never perfect, but ME3 really annoyed me. The most lazy cash-out ever.
