Why haven't we gotten a remaster?

Because Obsidian was bought by Microsoft and therefore was downgraded to Rare level

Knowing Bethesda would just crap out a badly upscaled game with 100% of all the same bugs the prior version had I wouldn't want one. I'm happy modding the original game

Partially this, but also it was a glitchy mess when it was forced to release before it was ready and that turned off some early players.

Bethesda's too busy adding werewolves to Fallout 76 :)

Too political. Would never fly in 2023.

Game is still a critical darling and would do well with a remaster. Microsoft just can't manage anything.

If they ever remaster it I hope they fix those dang invisible walls that's everywhere in the middle of the map.

Because of people like me who don't play on PC so was still willing to shell out for the PS3 version and suffer through the game that way with half the locations not even discovered. Five saves on that game. Vanilla save ready to do the final Hoover Dam mission. Then 4 more, each at the same place but with a different DLC completed.

And this isn't nostalgia either. First trophy for the game was April 30th.

Fortunately, the game holds up really well.

I thought it was fine on Xbox 360, iirc PS3 version in particular was bad

Definitely my most played game. So much stuff to do. Makes me wish we got the finished version of it.

You're basically on a time limit on PS3. Save file keeps getting bigger and it gets more unstable. Starting at around 6MB or so, I would have to close the game completely about once an hour. At around 8MB I would close the game and clear the cache each hour. Once it hits 10MB, your game is effectively done and unplayable.

That's awesome. Reminds me of the first game where you have to collect a water chip.

Skyrim was the same as I recall.

One thing that helps is to never use plasma or laser weapons because the goo piles really bloat & screw up the memory.

PS3 version froze a few times for me but I was able to complete it and all the DLC without too much problems granted I can't imagine a game lasting past that anyways I don't understand people who still play after that.

I was never able to do Old World Blues on PS3. Tried 3 or 4 times, and it froze the moment you got control of your character. I did get through Lonesome Road once.
