Or some other fun but unrelated activity. I had it quite a bit in school, and it helped break up the monotony a lot, probably helped the teachers too.

I saw a movie in school that I've wanted to watch again, but haven't been able to find it. It was called Tribes, and it starred Jan-Michael Vincent.

Apparently Roku has it, and also Youtube(I'd link but IDK if allowed).

Still remember when we saw When the Raven Flies.
A raw hard movie about a viking that revenges his murdered family.
Must rewatch it some day.

We watched The Other Guys in a college class one day. That was a fun one.

My 70-something year-old English teacher once has us watch a legit bootleg copy of Ray while it was still in theaters. Pretty good movie. No idea why we watched it in English class, and I don't know if she even knew it was a bootleg... but it was a camcorder recording from the audience, and you could see silhouettes of audience members and shit, so... it was pretty funny. The whole class was cracking up over it.

One of my high school english classes ended with a showing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail because more than half the class hadn't seen it

I rememeber them showing the James Wood short film "Catseye" in Psychology class

I didn't complain but I always questioned the value in showing fictional work to talk about human psychology.

i got to watch this one in German, lol. it was still hilarious.

Once, near the end of the year tests, our gym teacher was put in charge of looking after the students who weren't currently being tested in the morning periods. She let me pick the movies we watched out of my own personal DVD collection.

I picked Billy Madison, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Spaceballs.

I remember the DVD I owned that had some of the movie in Japanese.

During my last year of HS I basically had a free pass because the school was tiny and I already had all my credits except 1 english credit (which is absolute bullshit and everyone knew it), so for one of the classes I had we'd just fuck around and play games or watch stuff he liked. He showed me The Fall, The Professional/Leon, Anachronism, and we watched a bunch of random episodes of Samurai Jack that he thought were especially good.

I think we also watched the Princess Bride, but I'd already seen that before.

We did nearly every month at my school. Usually after tests there's not much else to do so the teacher would show us a movie on the TV.

I had a class called "Music for listeners" which was just all movies. At first it was stuff like Amadeus and other movies like that centered around classical music. But eventually we ended up just watching Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. It was dope.

This happened even when I was in uni. 20k a year to sit through memento in a composition class because the teacher had a hangover or some shit

Back when i was in school teacher randomly showed us The shawshank redemption

My 10th grade history teacher showed us Princess Mononoke. We could only watch 30 minutes so I went to the library after school to rent it so I could watch the whole thing. Then I made a topic about it on CE and a bunch of people told me to watch every other Studio Ghibli movie so that's what I did next.

I was robbed in high school. Our English teacher cut out the nudity from the old Romeo and Juliet movie. From what I could gather, she was the only english teacher that didn't just let it play.

And our Sociology teacher stood in front of the tv when there was nudity in Witness, then described what we missed.

I'd rather they just did their jobs, ended up sleeping through movies.

I bet she didn't. A student probably burned it onto a dvd and gave it to her without revealing how they obtained it.

Of course, I guess it's also possible your teacher was just the oldest pirate in the school.

Had an electric trades teacher that did it all the time cause he didnr wanna do his job. He'd tell us a page to open our books to and pretend to read if a admin or other teacher came in.

My janitor's retirement caused me to have to sit all the way through Star Wars when I was in Kindergarten

Eh, I just treated it like a study period and got shit done for other classes.

In 6th grade when they had all the girls go watch the video on their body changes, the teacher showed the boys Police Academy 3.
