Parents paying pricey tuition fees to the University of California, Santa Barbara may be surprised by this unlikely academic speaker. Porn star Angela White has given a guest lecture to students at the prestigious college as part of a groundbreaking film studies course. The 37-year-old X-rated actress who has been dubbed the Meryl Streep of porn due to her lengthy and illustrious career took to Twitter to detail her campus visit last week, revealing that she was introduced as an adult entertainer, entrepreneur, academic, politician and creative. Thank you Professor Constance Penley for having me as a guest speaker at your groundbreaking course at UCSB, White wrote beneath a photo that showed her posing next to the academic.

This is my third time as a guest speaker at this Film Studies class that approaches pornography as worthy of serious inquiry as a genre and as popular culture, the busty brunette continued. From the article it sounds like it's a course about approaching pornography as a serious art form, but it could be about more controversial films in general.

Undergrad College now is just for Bachelor of Science degrees or people just getting their 4 year degree on the way to law or med school. Thats about it.

Or both concerning movies that blend the genres together without being regarded as one or the other like a Lars Von Trier movie that has tons of sex.

I have no idea who that is, but if they're doing film studies of porn I legitimately think that's pretty awesome. I think porn has a significant but understudied influence on culture as a whole, particularly since the internet making it absolutely ubiquitous.
