Just got my barb to level 20 (max for beta). Thinking of trying druid next.

You don't get to carry forward your toons to launch, but there is a unique steed you can earn if you can defeat the world boss before the beta ends.

After a disappointing first try at Ashava with a friend where like 8 people were just on a deathstreak I took the cowards way out for our second try and turned the difficulty down to World Tier 1. We ended up beating it with 10 people and we still only had 47 seconds left. I know the boss is 5 levels above us and we get less Legendaries this time around but damn.

Between last beta and this weekend I've played a bunch of Sorcerer and Druid. Post-nerf Chain Lightning is still fun, and the Storm calling skill for Druid is great at clearing trash mobs. Tornado feels pretty terrible damage wise but maybe I'm missing something or it needs an Aspect.

When does the beta end?

Online only ever for single player means D4 can fuck off.

Game is good but Blizzard is going to ruin it by making it a 70 dollar micro-transaction fueled live service game.

From what Ive seen, pretty much everybody is having to turn it down to Tier 1
and you still pretty much have to get lucky by being teamed with Level 20s that at least SORT of know what theyre doing
they messed up the balancing even more. Necromancer is useless to Ashava. And underleveled people joining ruins it. legendary drop rates are ALOT lower
level 25 was the max for the beta. they lowered it to 20

Haven't gotten there yet but from what I understand it is very hard especially considering it is level 25 and the max level is 20.

Harder than last time, but my experience went from no chance at the second difficulty to just barely on the easier one. Dodging its attacks wasn't hard, but I bet the fight feels worse for melee once the poison AoE's are just all over the place. Plus it jumps around a ton so you waste some time(15 minute time limit) chasing it. Also don't try to revive people during the fight unless you're 100% safe <_<

It's actually just a trophy that goes on said steed, not an exclusive mount itself.

We only managed too bring it down to 60% health. Repair costs are not cheap, ouch. Think I'll skip the boss.

Phew, managed to kill it on my first try like 30 minutes after I got to level 20. There was under a minute left on the timer.

I'm going to be honest, I'm kind of pissed off. I got max level during the first beta, the least they could have done was let me carry on that character, instead of forcing me to make another character.

Damn I tried Ashava on World Tier 2 again and we timed out after bringing its health down to like 10%. I tried it with Sorc this time rather than Druid, though my damage was better this time.

I'd be interested in a new Diablo game but I will absolutely NOT play a games as a service game that expects me to play the game on its schedule rather than my own.

This. I prefer the default to be single player. With online multiplayer a choice if you want.

Nah, if I can't do everything in the game on my own schedule, the game is not for me. I am not going to play a game that gives me a level of anxiety of fomo for not playing it on ITS schedule.

Got lucky and joined a better team this time and defeated Ashava with 6 minutes to spare.

I would assume the actual release has this mechanic too, right?

Stuff like this is what killed the Forza Horizon series for me. I would literally 100% the games but now that it's a game as a service, you miss out on cars or events if you don't play EVERY WEEK and play the SPECIFIC RACES for that week. Shit like that just ruins the game for me.

The Diamblo 4 beta was the first diamblo game I ever played

servers were trash during the last 2 betas so i didnt play this one. i have no faith the game will be playable during the first week or two after release either

core game seems good but i know they will ruin it with P2W

This is why I am waiting for it to drop to 10 bux before I buy it. It is one thing for a game to be a micro-transaction fueled live service game. It is another thing to charge 70 dollars for the game itself on top of that.

Even outside of this event the game will have time limited content like battle passes, buy stuff type events, etc. Activision marketing leans very heavy on the FOMO method of getting people to buy stuff.

World bosses can be killed once per week for legendary drops. How exactly they determine which will spawn and when is unknown to me. But if it is like WoW when it is only a certain one each week, if you need a specific drop from one of them then you could miss out on it for awhile if you miss that week.
