Nelvana are the ones responsible for that god-awful "Cardcaptors" dub. Not only were there tons of "westernizing" name changes and censorship, they re-arranged the episode order and completely re-wrote the show to make Syaoran seem like the protagonist and not Sakura. The higher-ups believed a show with a female protagonist wouldn't sell, so they completely butchered the show to downplay Sakura and elevate Syaoran. The voice acting and music were decent, but everything else about the dub was horrible. Cardcaptor Sakura did end up getting a second and more faithful English dub much later thanks to Animax, but unfortunately, that dub has absolutely awful voice acting. So in other words, the original series has two different English dubs and they're both complete shit. The dub for the Clear Card sequel series (done by Funimation) was actually pretty good though.
