Id say its pretty significant. They went all out on big budget shows (she hulk at 200 mill) that were mediocre. Then theres the culture wars with crazy conservatists shitting on Disney cause "they woke"

D+ doesn't really add enough to make it worth keeping on auto renew. That drop could just be people switching to subbing once every 4 months when enough content has accumulated.

They just announced that they're rolling Hulu and Disney+ into one service. Looks kinda bad for Disney+ rn.

They have absolutely nothing airing right now though. It's their fault for making it the Marvel+Star Wars streaming service and not investing in any original IP worthwhile.

Trash service with mostly trash products. Also they raised the subscription price this year which even though it's only a dollar, that can actually impact profits.

I don't know why they didn't do that to begin with. It's basically how it works here in Australia. There's a section called Star that has the Hulu type stuff.

Hulu is one of the only profitable streaming services. It's honestly probably an easy way to obfuscate the D+ operational loss and trick investors.

I believe that has to do with Comcast still being a partial owner. I dont think they're allowed to full on merge them in the US until that's over and done with.

Lets be real, none of that stuff is worth watching.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Disney%2B_original_programming

Dunno who "generic comedy starring John Stamos" is really for but it's not for me that's for sure. This is basically early 2000s Disney Channel quality programming, and the world has changed a lot since then.

Not really. I dont know about Star Wars, but the Marvel shows are always trending and talked about widely on social media. There hasnt been a new (live-action) Marvel show in a while so people are thirsty, I think thats the real reason for this drop.

This is accurate
National Treasure and Willow didn't bring in new subscribers. No one cares about those franchises and they made some strange choices in their direction.

She Hulk was it's most watched new show last year. If anything, they'll probably pour more into Marvel and Star Wars. I'd suspect some more lower budget stuff to cut costs. What If... and Star Wars cartoons get good views for a fraction of the cost.
