I think that's a lot of my issue. I like a ton of metal but not super into grindcore. The closest thing to grindcore that I think I really like is crpytopsy and that's really mostly death metal with a touch of grindcore

I do like that one terorizer album though too and that's pretty much straight up grindcore

I'm kinda bad at analyzing the technical differences between bands that veer between death metal and grindcore (and genres in general). I'll have to check that out. I usually don't universally like genres at all - usually I find I like certain 'creative' bands that reside in the genre, but I like them for more reasons than the genre itself. I guess it's the 'energy' that draws me, which is kinda nebulous. I like a bit of irreverance and some passion I suppose?
