I don't work in science, but my pals who do be like "yeah I have a PhD and I've been in this job 5 years and I work 70 hours a week including some weekends and my job is basically all the worst parts of admin but if you don't do it meticulously then everything fails, I make $40k a year"

P.s. this is why it makes me laugh when people say that climate scientists are in a financial world domination conspiracy. A sub-6 figure salary is not a lot of wiggle room to scam the entire planet

There is so much about it that makes me laugh. Possibly the funniest part is the sheer audacity of someone who thought about something over a beer for 5 minutes thinking they have something inciteful to add to the field, which is what 99% of the "debunking" boils down to.
