I could say obvious stuff like Sonic 06 or the Zelda CDi games, but those at least had some entertainment value in their shittiness.

Instead I'm going to say Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time. Every aspect of that game's design was miserable. I'm now very selective of which licensed anime games I play because of it.

Oh, and technically, I know it doesn't really have an ending, but I played a lot of the space part of Spore until I got so frustrated with constantly being attacked by everything cause of treaties and shit that I uninstalled the game and never went back.

So, Spore.

I legitimately can't comprehend how this is considered a classic.

Me, my brother and my two nephews went through this entire jank-fest twin stick shooter on 4 players and actually beat it. It was glitchy as fuck (like, falling through the floor and dying glitchy) and unbalanced as hell with certain enemies, but we actually stuck through it all and finished it.

Secret of Mana falls off hard late game, but I still like it so much that I eventually bought a used copy of the cheap ass remake they did of it Gamestop for 20 bucks. The game does flow pretty well but the voice acting and cut scenes are just so bad it's (good maybe). But the original of Secret of Mana had a vibe that wasn't Elliott looking so pissed in a cut scene constantly.

Was gonna go with Mass Effect Andromeda, but then I remembered Sonic 06 exists. I feel I could at least tolerate another playthrough of Andromeda, but 06 as it is I know I can't.

Sonic 06 is another one. I'm still amazed I finished that game. End of the World was literal cancer.

Sonic 06 made me question my love for the Sonic franchise, until Generations came out and revitalized it.

Same, =/ lol. The second release really was an improved version though so it wasn't all that bad.

I like to think I stuck to playing the first version because I liked cutting the game on and listening to that sweet violin bloodlines intro theme.

probably some movie game I played as a kid. Remember playing a bunch of Disney video games that I'd probably think are absolutely awful now like the Bug's Life game. I do still like the Toy Story 2 platformer where you play as Buzz, I replayed it maybe 5 or so years ago.

I was going to play Secret of Evermore, and the original Trials of Mana, but the gameplay of Secret of Mana was so awful I couldn't fathom playing anything even remotely similar to it. Every time I hear a game compared with Secret of Mana favorably it's an instant "nope".

Secret of Evermore is really good. Should ping it's Bills Fault (he used to post here, was a developer of the game). Obviously it had some issues too but, the combat was way better than Secret of Mana, I was really happy with that game. Also Jeremy Soule made his music composing debut there, a fun fact. For your Elder Scrolls fans :P

Arguing with myself, but Secret of Evermore was legit.

That's a good question. I don't normally hang around to beat games I don't even like.

I guess I'll go with Metal Gear Solid V. Solid game in and of itself, but deeply disappointing. Unfinished, and not really much of a Metal Gear game at all. Good core gameplay can't make up for the lack of fun bosses, story, funny gimmicks, personable characters, etc, all the hallmarks of a good Metal Gear game. And at the end of the day, the game is just yet another big, empty open world with nothing to do in it. What's there is very polished, but like, what's the point? I liked the game enough to grind to the ending, but the whole thing is just so empty and hollow. oooo, like a phantom pain, ooooo.

I guess there's Astria Ascending. Really weird 2D traditional turn-based JRPG (despite technically being developed in France), takes a lot of obvious inspiration from early Final Fantasy. Deeply mid. There's some redeaming qualities, I enjoy the fact you get all 8 of your party members right away and can jump right into character customization, hardly any "locked features." The job system was cool, but since the game has no respecs and you have no idea what you're getting into until you pick one, it can be stiffling. The game is quite goofy looking, sometimes outright ugly. And like many turn-based JRPGs, the meta ultimately devolves into Party-Wide Nuke Spells vs Party-Wide Heal Spells. But I still enjoyed it enough to get to the end, and then never played it again.

I take it you didn't read my post? I can't think of a time I have played a bad video game I didn't like to the end, so this is relative to the other games I've beaten. I can think of a lot of games worse than MGSV, but I didn't complete any of them. As disappointing as TPP was, I did like it enough to beat the final mission (literally a repeat of the tutorial mission).

The music in Sonic 3D blast for the Saturn was good too. I have no real opinion on that game it was just odd and I didn't play it much. But yeah a game can have good music and be crap. Deep Fear is a good example of that. Imagine Resident Evil, but underwater!

Cruisin' USA, I guess? I honestly don't play a lot of bad games, let alone beat them. Even the lesser games I owned / rented as a kid on the NES / SNES ended up having some sort of classical / nostalgic value later in life. Goonies 2 immediately springs to mind as something that could possibly be considered 'bad,' but I have no idea where it lands on the general consensus (that one's significant to me because I could never beat it as a kid, but one day decided to go back and finally beat it as an adult).

lol jk, my answer is Fallout 3, no contest.

EbonTitanium posted...

Fallout New Vegas: I enjoyed this game, but playing through it was a hellish experience.

NV ended up being my game of the 2010's, but that first playthrough just after launch was disastrous due to the bugs. Hell, I even abandoned my 2nd playthrough some time later because a bug literally locked me out of starting the Dead Money DLC that I'd just purchased. Thankfully I eventually gave it a third chance, and the game finally clicked for good.
