Is the map meant to be garbage?

So is Dathomir meant to be pretty tough as a first planet or should I lower the difficulty? I went with Jedi Master because it said it was for people who were familiar with action games.

Why does the game let you go to Dathomir only to prevent you from actually doing anything here? I killed some bugs and some Nightbrothers, but now there's a gap I can't jump across and I'm pretty sure that's just it. I liked that you could skip to the harder planet first, but now I feel like I just kinda wasted my time.

I guess it does get you the double-bladed lightsaber? Assuming that you can only find it at that workbench.

Get good at parrying.

I've been trying, but the Nightbrothers and the Lesser whosit just seem to ignore me and beat the shit out of Cal.

I can do the ranged attacks though, they aren't a problem.

JM is a bitch with it and those two enemies in particular are some of the trickier ones because of their weird-ass patterns.

Beat the shit out of some Mall Cop Stormtroopers, much easier to get the timing.

You can get the dual saber elsewhere later in the game

Yeah its good to grab the lightsaber and return later, that was the last planet I did as it was the toughest.

Wait, really? I figured it was like level three instead of level two lol.

I finished the main quest on Zeffo and immediately found two different pathways, one of which branched into two more pathways, and I honestly have no fucking clue where I am in the slightest but I keep finding ponchos, so I guess it works out.

Don't do what I did and try to play it like a souls game. Last minute rolling into attack sucks and doesn't work here. Parry/block and make generous use of your force powers. Wasn't until I was like 95% of the way through when I learned that push and slow-down can really help control mobs.

Yeah, I'm learning that the roll is not really the move, you want to parry more. Unfortunately, I am as good at parrying in this game as I am in Elden Ring. Or maybe it just doesn't have as much of an effect as I'm expecting.

The push has been useful, but I'm not really noticing the slowdown. Like I tried it on that one Purge Trooper and he still zipped around like the Flash.

Force pushing the balls is completely ass btw. I figured I'd do this one little puzzle right outside the ship on Bogano and it's just infuriating.

Okay, fuck it, I'm lowering the difficulty. I'm garbage at parrying.

I think the flame troopers are what broke me, they're just obnoxious.

It's funny that the bosses so far are barely an inconvenience whereas the various wildlife and Imperial forces spank me so handily.

Why is this game $70? Guess I'll wait a couple years for it to come down to $20 on a sale

Yeah, I seem to remember the flamethrower dudes stunlocking you if they pin you between debris or something.

Yeah, that one was kinda hard. IIRC, you have to time-stop the ball as it rolls down a slope, reposition, then hit it just so, making it do a little curve and land in the receptacle. Took me about 30 tries, I think, haha.

This is the first one and I guess it was free on PS+ at some point. Probably within the last month or two to promote the sequel.

I'm...kind of coming to the opinion that it's not that great. Like a 7/10.

Okay, it's kind of dropping to a 6/10 because I'm now consistently having an audio/visual desync in cutscenes.

It is a 5/10

Story is pretty boilerplate, combat isn't great and it's clear no-one tested the game. And the spiders are annoying as fuck

still think it's better than the second for what it's worth

Anyone know of a guide that tells you all the collectibles after you've unlocked all the abilities? All I can find are ones that act like you're visiting each planet for the first time.
