My whole life there's been a next grade or next school to coast into. Now I have to actually take initiative and find a place to live and work.

Just don't get discouraged if you don't find a job right away. It's been a while, but the average when I got out of college was like 1 year or so. It took me like 7 months.

Yes it's pretty weird.

There are 2 moments like that in life, I think.

The first one is getting accepted into a good college: "yes! I made it! I am so elite! here's to a good life! yay!!" (INB4 stress, hard work, and learning you ain't shit)

Then it's graduating: It's the very same yes! I made it! I am so elite! here's to a good life! yay!!" (INB4 stress, hard work, and learning you ain't shit)

Completely agree with Aeriis. It took me 10 years to get my degree due to life. Now that I got it I'm like damn my life has reduced to working and sleeping. This is it for the next 20 years.

I try learning a new language as something to keep my brain active, but usually after work I don't want to do anything. There's life goals, but I already did what most them when I was younger.

My job isn't fulfilling in the slightest and I constantly think "damn is this it to life?"

I have very fond memories of Seattle when my family took a long roadtrip when I was a kid but who knows how different it is now. That was when Borders was still around. I think I may want to live in Washington state

anyway, congratulations

I've been out of college for 11+ years (undergrad), and I sometimes think about going back.

Yeah it took me a while to get a job, I never managed to get any internships in school. Even now I'm not really doing stuff super related to my degree, but it's a decent job regardless.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

That's basically me right now. I'm almost done with my degree but I work full time and can only take 1 class a semester, plus the commute to college is 50 minutes 1-way. So it's literally just been work, school, sleep, repeat. I barely have time to do other stuff >_> But it definitely feels fulfilling to keep at it and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Anyways, congrats TC!

I kinda felt college, and HS before it, was a meritocracy. Study hard, be smart and you'll do well.

Real life has way too many factors that make it not a meritocracy, such as having the ability to be a good suck up
