I would. Take a chance on them and work hard and money will follow you if youre good at what you do.

If I am applying for a job then I would likely know what the salary range for that position is supposed to be ahead of time.

Know your worth and know what the general pay for the position depending on where the region is. For exmaple, an entry level IT Help Desk job would prolly start off at 18 dollars an hour in the midwest however in the westcoast it would prolly start at 24 dollars an hour. You have to negotiate the pay if you have a bargaining chip.

If I'm REALLY struggling then I'm not much in a position to pass up a paying job, whatever it is.

That approach might have worked like 20 years ago. Working hard and loyalty doesn't usually lead to success in the modern world of exploitation, unless you ok with setting a really low bar in life.

The law says they have to post it for my area, so if there isn't a range posted then that's already a huge red flag.

I asked about the pay at my current job on my first day lol. But I was really desperate to leave my previous job and just knew the pay would be better.

i would if glassdoor provided decent estimates of the position for the company and my experience matched up with the requirements in terms of years worked

im not gonna apply to a job that only wants 1 year of experience because obviously the pay will be low

If I want it for other reasons I will contact them and ask about the salary. If they wont talk salary then Im not interested.

I have previously walked out of interviews because they refused to talk money.

Also, post 17 makes no sense. I do get the bigger money.

ideally, it should be mandatory to reveal how much they're willing to pay for a certain job so that they don't waste anyone's time.

but i suspect that if more companies did that, there would be a lot of them who would get passed on since their salary is shit... lol
