I've started it so many times on various versions over the years(NES, GBA, PSP) but never actually completed it until now on Switch. I kept encounters off a majority of the time and defeated the final boss at level 31. He wasn't too bad until towards the end where he used Haste twice and wiped my party except for my Warrior who was able to finish him off. It was a close call though, if Chaos physically attacked I would have lost, but he used Blizzaga and my Warrior got the last hit he needed to claim victory. Temper and Haste are amazing spells, he was doing over 1k damage per turn so that helped a ton.

On to Final Fantasy II!

Also is the HP growth for every class except Warrior and Knight complete garbage? My Master has almost 100 fewer HP than my freaking White Wizard

congratulations

for most players, it is not recommended to keep encounters off most of the time, and reach the final boss at only level 31. A recommended level is more like level 41

in the main menu, above the option Save, there is an option Quick Save

you can Quick Save in dungeons and towns. You can Quick Save right before a boss fight

Don't those force you back to the main menu and delete when you load them? I was talking about the autosave in the PR version when you go to a different screen

the Quick Saves do not delete when you load them. The Quick Saves do not force you back to the main menu. You should try it

Oh hell yes, that's gonna make the final dungeon in FF III a lot better
