generally speaking AMAB (assigned male at birth) people that dress and act femininely but still identify as male although there are always people who fall outside that definition that still identify with the term "femboy"

I think the major difference is that femboys don't actively seek to be seen as women whereas crossdressers do when they're crossdressing.
