Stan: I'm through episode 19 now and if I weren't afraid of spoilers for remaining eps, I'd see if there was a Steins;Gate version of the "Bro, I'm straight up not having a good time" meme image and post that here because wow (I mean I am having a GREAT time watching it but you know what I mean). Oh I thought I only had 5 eps left but I see there's an OVA ep afterwards, nice. And then I'll probably feel compelled to watch S;G0 after even though I've heard it's nowhere near as good but these characters are so great, I want more!!! ... Copied to Clipboard!

The OVA is a fun episode but doesn't quite make sense with S;G0. Which speaking of...I'm actually halfway through myself for the first time. I think it's solid but I think reading the VN is probably necessary to get the full enjoyment out of it. S;G VN was pretty easy to adapt since it's actually pretty linear for a story with time travel. The S;G0 VN is decidedly...not linear so adapting it is challenging and it's very clear in the anime that certain things had to be rushed and may leave viewers confused about certain aspects of the story. ... I don't, in fact I never knew there was a movie. I assume it's not one of those "series summary" movies? Is it prequel or sequel? Getting the movie now but I also see there's something called "Steins;Gate: Kyoukaimenjou no Missing Link - Divide By Zero"? What's that and assuming I get it too what's the sequence I should be watching these things... Stan: thx for the insight, how would I go about getting/going through the S;G and S;G0 Visual Novels assuming I go that route? I haven't watched the movie but it seems to be a sequel of sorts and isn't canon. S;G -> movie if you want -> S;G0 VN -> missing link (also have not watched this but knowing what it is it would fit here) -> S;G0 anime seems to be the order I would maybe go with. Steins;Gate 0 can be played on PS3 or 4, Vita, XBox One, or Switch. Same for the original though it isn't on the Switch and is on the 360 instead of One. Both are also available on Steam it seems. So it's pretty accessible if you would like to go that route. Though I will say the original anime adapts the VN very well and outside of one subplot, doesn't really leave anything out other than the "Bad Ends" though I think even those got animated at some point. ...
