Did any of your friends drop out? Even for legitimate reasons?

No, but there were a few that I was legitimately surprised managed to graduate.

When I was in 10th grade another 10th grader did. But the guy had flunked several times beforehand and didn't seem to be doing any better that he would actually pass.

She wasn't my friend, but we had a classmate that dropped out in sophomore year because she had a baby. Beyond that, everyone finished, although we did have 2 or 3 people that didn't get to walk the stage.

Some wound up being career military. Most wound up in trades doing pretty well for themselves

I dropped out, got an HSED, went to college, dropped out, started working. Now I do the equivalent of masters level specialist work in multiple fields.

One friend kinda got screwed over by a bunch of credits not transferring when he moved here from out of state, and didn't know that was the case until near the end of his senior year. He chose to just go work full time and get his GED.

Not that I know of.

One got left back, and one had to go to summer school in order to graduate.

But I don't know of anyone that flat dropped out.

Dropped out of college to join the military, then left the military to return to college with a GI bill.

Had a friend who wasn't allowed to graduate cause he failed gym.

I dropped out of High School to play Runescape full time. Couple years later I got a GED. Many years later I went to college and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science.

I knew a guy who got expelled. He had some kind of incident that had him sent to the principal. They were trying to talk to him and he threw a chair. And that ended his time at the public highschool. I think he had to get a GED a few years later. I lost contact with him years ago. I think the last time I ever spoke to him was in like 2006

No, I knew a girl in my chemistry class said she was going to drop out. She did, but I wasn't close her.

Not high school but many that wanted to be music majors did later on

You cant do that where I grew up.

Not really my friend but my friend's brother dropped out of HS. AFAIK, he never went back.

Another guy in my class got kicked out 2 months before graduation and was eventually allowed to make it up the summer afterwards. That was an ugly scene.

I did! Never graduated or bothered to get a GED. It was probably not a good idea.

I voted no because I assumed you meant high school. I did wind up dropping out of college twice. The first time because I didn't feel like going, the second time because they cut off my financial aid and I couldn't afford to finish.

I have started going to college while in the military, though.

One of them, but he got his GED. He works for a furniture store now in the back.

None of us did.

Yep, took GED, it was piss easy. Wish I had learned about it sooner because it could have spared me from the 11th grade, otherwise known as the worst year of my life.

i dunno if what i did technically counts as dropping out, but i'm gonna go with it does.

My school story went

6th grade almost got my mom in trouble for never going to school because of abusive step dad. Got held back.

Following year my guidance counselor pulled me aside because I tested high school level in everything but math. Moved me back with my class. Step dad went to jail and I did well enough to get into GT English and History for 8th grade.

8th grade was amazing.. I was in several clubs. Got straight As and won several awards.

9th grade my step dad got out of jail. My mom and I were trapped in his house because she became disabled so we weren't able to get our own place in the time he was gone. I started skipping school and doing drugs. Probably went to a total of 60 days worth of high school between 9th and 10th grade before dropping out.

One closet friend did cause he got Chrons disease. I haven't talked to him for years.
