I've had the latter happen and it was so brazen I thought it was facetious

I was at a party once, and some chick came up to me and told me "you look like you get new pussy every night"
I laughed.

i tend to realize it because i know what to look for

people are generally afraid to come on strong and people on the other side tend to be oblivious since they usually don't study, are on the lookout or constantly putting themselves in such situations...surprised it's not lower tbh

We must always be aware that men are dramatically more likely to be mistaken in assuming that a woman was flirting with him than the opposite. Painful as it is, we must accept this bias and realize that the memories of past women possibly flirting with us are most likely at least in part a fabrication of our mind to cope with our lack of sexual desirability. And by we I mean me.
