The Florida Board of Education has voted to expand restrictions on classroom instruction related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

"This amendment prohibits classroom instruction to students in pre-kindergarten through Grade 3 on sexual orientation or gender identity. For Grades 4 through 12, instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity is prohibited unless such instruction is either expressly required by state academic standards ... or is part of a reproductive health course or health lesson for which a students parent has the option to have his or her student not attend," according to the amendment.

No they won't be. They'll just say "These kids are in high school. They shouldn't have to focus on that stuff with college coming up."

Then it gets passed to colleges and places of work so the argument then becomes "Just keep it to yourself. What's the big deal?"

Nah, they're just working towards legislating the gay away. They'd just love to outlaw gay sex, gender-affirming care, and "cross-dressing" but they hafta take baby steps or people might actually realize how shitty it all is.

it is quite a strange tale for how Florida has swung a hard right, after being a battleground state for so long

I mean, Florida went to Obama in both 2008 and 2012, but I supposed that was the last straw for conservatives living in, and the ones moving to the state, and it has regressed heavily to what it is now
