Forget it TC, it's Chinatown. Great movie even if it's not exactly a happy one. And that theme! People rag on it, but I thought The Two Jakes wasn't bad. --- http://i.imgur.com/hslUvRN.jpg When I sin I sin real good. ... Copied to Clipboard!

John Huston's Noah Cross is one of my all time favourite villains. I need to watch it again, but I have a hard time with the whole Polanski thing. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Hard to say whether Chinatown or Who Framed Roger Rabbit takes the crown as best in the trilogy :-P --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read https://imgur.com/1WshTZu - by DB_Insider https://imgur.com/eW67nT8 - by Wii_Shaker ... Would certainly put some levity in there. BurmesePenguin posted... I need to watch it again, but I have a hard time with the whole Polanski thing. I acknowledge it is an excellently crafted movie. But after several film classes that featured a lot of film noir i am just about done with this genre and style. My watch history of acclaimed films is now skewed enough that when the protagonist is a failure it's just old hat. I'm stuck in one of two worlds where either the joke cracking hero saves everything in blockbuster fashion, or else some loser with a 30% quantum probability of being played by Jack Nicholson stumbles around as the director relishes in how his portrayal of LIFE is so DARK and REAL. When I first learned that George Lucas was a close collaborator of craftsmen like Francis Ford Coppola, I was shocked at where he ended up. Now, I feel great sympathy for him! Can't imagine what it does to the brain to be around these New Hollywood guys all day long. I'm exaggerating of course, I think I'm just feeling 70s fatigue. I'd love to see a thoughtful and complex and well-crafted movie where the director believes positive change is possible in the new world. According to Shmoop, Polanski got the writer to change it so that --- https://imgur.com/gallery/dXDmJHw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75GL-BYZFfY ... Copied to Clipboard!
