If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Completed it a couple of days ago and honestly, I loved every minute of it. Whilst my love of RE is deeply entrenched in the original trilogy and it's fixed camera angles, focus on item management and survival horror, I did quite like RE4's change to the formula when it came out in 2005.

RE4make fixes some of the issues I had, two of those being tone and atmosphere, which were enhanced drastically due to great strides made in graphical fidelity with lighting over the years. It's also less of a meme-factory, which, don't get me wrong, I found endearing about the original version, but I like the tonal shift in the remake a lot more.

Combat feels great, parries feel good, managing durability of the knife allows for good fight or flight decisions mid combat and ties into item management.

I had a lot of run with the remake, though I am a bit saddened by the notion that, such fun was found in a remake of an 18 year old game. There's no shortage of good games to play nowadays, but heavy hitting blockbuster releases rarely do it for me so most of my fun is in the indie or AA space. This isn't to downplay how good RE4make is, I just wish we had more games of such a quality that are new experiences too.

Either way, amazing time, might try for all achievements on it even though I don't typically care about them, already doing a NG+ run because I just couldn't resist.
