It stems from a lifetime of bullying, being in a horrible family, and having my family's dirty laundry constantly aired out by a particularly hostile and cruel relative of mine. It's destroyed my sanity. This was only made worse by being in relationships with emotionally abusive people who made me feel terrible on a daily basis. I want to feel happy and comfortable as myself but I'm never going to be happy or comfortable unless I and things/people I associate with are deemed "normal".
