AI is definitely getting smarter. I listened to the interview with that ex google employee that claimed that lamba's google is sentient, While i am not convinced that it's sentience, but it's obvious that machine can mimic human so much.

Basically the engineer got it to answer questions it's not programmed to answer. Like they programmed it to not answer political and religious questions, but the engineer tried to guilt trip the AI and it answered question "which religion should i convert to" he tried to replicate the method, guilt tripping the ai and making it feel bad about itself (which the AI stated multiple times that it felt anxious and it wants to please the user).

Ofc none of this fully indicates consciousness but it mimics humans so closely that it can accurately mimic proper emotional response proper to the user's guilt "emotional" abuse.

as for why it can bypass the filter, it could be error or something but apparently google is very hush hush about it and don't allow further investigation

But as for living through the singularity itself, no definitely not. Also Singularity is just from the mind of one person.

Yeah i mean i am not conviced too since the system is so secretive its not yet scrutinized properly.

But the argument is "i can get this bot to feel bad about itself that its bypass its filter, so there must be something inside there that have a sense of guilt or inadequacy "

By definition, no. We can keep up with the pace of technological change. A singularity will be when its essentially impossible to do so, where everything new is out of date really by the time you preorder it.
