Like Odin and Zeus declare war on each other and all the gods take part. Why has this never been a thing?

No, that sounds mindnumbingly low brow.

How is it any different from a super hero movie?

What about it makes it low brow? And why are other action movies not low brow?

If you don't think Iron Man 1 or Black Panther has more going on than the concept you put out, I dunno what to tell you.

Well, I guess I'd tell you you're being silly.

Not that I'm jumping out of my seat to defend duper hero movies.

Considering I gave only the most bare premise, I don't see why you are leapig to assumptions about what the story would be like

When Iron Man was first proposed as a movie, people did not know what the plot would be.

"They are making an Iron Man movie!"

"Cool! Do we know the plot yet?"

"No"

"Oh. Well I hope it's good"

Just because I didn't go into detail, doesn't mean Hollywood wouldn't write a compelling story. Maybe I didn't try because

1. I'm not a professional writer

2. I didn't think people would get mad at the basic premise and would require a detailed plot proposal

Weird energy in this topic.

If it was fleshed out properly, had a good cast and production behind it, I'd probably be interested. There is more than enough mythology to make something cool.

Apparently people think that because I didn't go into detail on the exact storyline, that the movie wouldn't have an interesting plot.

It's fantasy. It doesn't matter

They killed all the pagan gods in 1 fucking episode. It's the main reason I quit the show. It goes on for like several more seasons so I assume they just endlessly fight the Christian god, Satan and angels over and over

No thanks

I had an idea for a YA novel or show/movie like that. There would be three teenagers, one who represented Greek mythology, one who represented Norse mythology and one who represented Egyptian mythology. They would be the collective will of these stories and be able to talk to their respective gods. A Ragnarok-type thing was coming where they would all fight to be the supreme gods. Then it would follow their stories from there.

Never wrote it but your topic title reminded me of it.

I feel Percy Jackson came around when I was already too old for those books. I probably would have been all over them when I was a kid.

My nephew has read Percy Jackson and its spinoffs. There is a Norse school and an Egyptian school that have books. Also there is a Roman school. Apparently the Greek and Roman gods both exist and they have seperate minds. I think my nephew said they are actually 1 being each, but they have a split personality. The Roman kids are rivals to the Greek kids

That is a pretty cool idea, especially because I know a lot more about Greek mythology than the other two. But only a novel for the reason I said
