I saw it day one on a whim. Don't even think I knew it existed up until that point <_< I forget why I was even near a theater.

I didn't find it offensive. Just aggressively mediocre and bland. Lacking any real heart and soul that you would have expected to come out of Pixar.

Honestly, I think if you just kept the same exact premise but have be not Buzz Lightyear related, it'd have been received better because it would have carried no expectations and no nostalgia with which to be compared to.

Yeah, I caught it in theaters. Thought it was pretty okay. I had fun, didn't feel like it wasted my time. I get why people were turned off, though. Buzz Lightyear the toy is a beloved character and I think doing the "gritty reboot" thing with him rubbed people the wrong way.

Soul was the last Pixar movie I watched. I liked it a lot but it also made me realize that I think I'm done with Pixar movies.

The problem is that they claimed this is the movie that Andy watched so many times and the reason he loves Buzz.
This is more a Hollywood remake 25 years later made to make people like Andy bring his own kids to watch it because of nostalgia.

I was walking down the toy aisle of Walmart last week and there were still so many Lightyear toys. Disney clearly expected the movie to do better.

I liked the first half of the movie, though it had some issues. But the last half just sucked. Boring, didn't make any sense, kinda stupid, and had a lot of mixed messages. Felt like the movie wasn't ready and they had too many ideas and did a poor job editing them.

I love its pitch meeting because he used one of my favorite May May "the real <thing> are the friends we meet along the way"

Its a great movie aside from Zurg being a future-Buzz, which get like it goes against established canon. Legit best Pixar movie Id seen in a while.

Saw it on a inmovie flight. It was okay for a 3D animation but still doesn't explain how he is a toy. Haven't seen like TS 3 etc.

Lightyear is a movie that apparently aired in the Toy Story universe.

Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story is a toy of Buzz in the movie.

That reminds me of a mostly-joking complaint I have with the movie.

I have absolutely zero issues with woke stuff, but the lesbian couple in Lightyear stuck out to me as odd because 90s kids movies didnt typically have stuff like that lol

I saw it last year. It was better than I thought it would be but nothing mind blowing. Worth a watch.

Yeah it was pretty forgettable

No but i did listen to a movie long youtube review of it by the biggest Toy Story nerd out there on why he hated it

The first trailer seemed interested but the rest it looked bland, and boring as fuck.

Should have just been a action animated movie similar to the TV show. But those aren't really a thing anymore sadly.

This is why they missed a great opportunity by not having a post credits scene showing the toys watching the movie and being in awe of toy Buzz as he stands there looking proud.

I mean cosidering the amount good films you probably have on your watchlist I don't see the logic in spend the time you could use to watch those, to watch something that's been agreed by all to be objectively mediocre and irrelevant.
So yeah, it is absolutely not "worth a watch" .

thats not how opinions work. Opinions can not be objectively anything, all opinions are subjective. While you may not like this movie, it might end up being somebody elses favorite movie. Thats how opinions work.

Yeah no. The silly billy would be the one who doesn't understand what a figurative "all" means, which is not in fact "every single person on planet earth", but an expression to mean "the majority" of people.

No. How would I know how much care they made it with? I just said that most people don't think this is a technically good movie, whether it was made with care or not.

For example, most people think The Shawshank Redemption and Citizen Kane are objectively the best movies ever made. And I respect that and all, but I personally didn't like either.

Does entertainment have a use value?

It's a kid movie so of course adults aren't going to tell other adults to watch it. if you are trying to kill the dreamer in your child you might avoid it, I guess.
