I do. There's a very clear problem with eating only one thing for an entire month however. This friend of yours may save some money in the short term but I expect the spuds to bite back before long. Paying a little more for a balanced diet is preferable to paying medical bills. Well in the states anyway.

Potatoes need something added to them make them taste good. Also unless he's buying bags of potatoes that have really huge potatoes in them then there's no way they are they filling.

I've been living off spaghetti for a bit now to save money. A box of noodles ($2), a jar of sauce ($3), and a box of garlic bread ($4) lasts about a week. I also supplement it with coffee.

A baked potato with some chili crisp on it is heavenly.

There are countless meals you can cook with potatoes, and flavors you can add to adjust the taste. So if I could only live on a single thing for months or even years on end it'd be potatoes.

Getting free food is easy. Its being able to afford rent thats the issue. I cant say what I hope happens to landlords.
